Christmas 2008
Here is a picture of the storm that came in right before Christmas. There were a couple of storms that came in during the week, including one on Christmas evening.
We had a good Christmas. Regrettably I didn't take a picture of the tree before we opened presents. On Christmas morning Scott turned on the train and Addie got excited and went downstairs. Not all the presents were wrapped, so she immediately went for the toys she could see (the blow up toy with balls, her couch, the stroller, etc). She also loved to rip open the presents, and even knew that there would be something inside. Thanks to everyone who sent gifts, we had a really fun Christmas!

Let it snow!
It has snowed quite a bit in the last couple of days. Adelyn loves to watch the large flakes fall and was excited to go outside and play. Slight disclaimer... Addie doesn't have a snowsuit yet (she is getting one for Christmas) so I dressed her up in 4 pairs of pants, the last layer overlapping her shoes (because she only has church shoes), 2 shirts, 2 coats, a hat, and a pair of socks as gloves. One of these days we will get it all figured out. It didn't matter what she was wearing, she loved playing in the snow!

Allergy Testing
Yesterday we took Adelyn in for allergy testing. They tested her for wheat, soy, milk, egg, peanuts, and all the tree nuts. I guess fish is an adult allergy so she shouldn't be allergic to it. The test rates on a scale of 0-4 (zero being no reaction and four the most). Adelyn scored a 3+ for milk and 2+ for eggs. She scored zero on the rest. I thought it was a good thing... we already knew she was allergic to milk and eggs, at least we don't have to add more to the list. The allergist said that babies can be born with a tolerance to a food, later become allergic, and then finally (hopefully) grow out of it. He thinks Adelyn is somewhere between having the allergy and growing out of it. Yahoo! Most cases like this, where the child is only allergic to milk and eggs, they grow out of it by the time they are 2 or 3. Good news. I do get to carry around an Epipen (just in case) but I don't think we will have to use it. Adelyn will just do a follow up visit in the summer, but hopefully the allergy is gone by then. Until then, the struggle continues to find food that does not contain milk or eggs.
I also wanted to put a plug in that Adelyn is Binky-free... and has been for a while! Yahoo.

Nebraska
My mom and I were able to go to Nebraska to see my new little niece (Alexis Kate) -hence the delay in blogging. Nebraska is the furthest east I have ever been (yeah, how sad). I had a lot of fun hanging out with some of my sisters, mom and nieces. We were able to relax, eat, sleep in (thanks mom!), and just laugh. The weather was great, and Addie did pretty good on the 8.5 hour car ride (each way). Alexis is so cute! I cant wait to come visit again, thanks for having us! Here are some pictures of the girls.

First Kiss!
We had some friends over today, including a little boy named Chase. Addie really likes to play with Chase. He gave Addie a few hugs (after a little encouraging to "be nice"... you know how little kids can be) and after one hug he snuck in a kiss on the lips. It was so funny. I still laugh just thinking about it. He is a cute boy... but lets wait 18 or more years, ok?

15 Month Stats
Addie had her 15 month check up today. Here are her stats:
21 pounds 8 oz (28%)
31 inches (66%)
Head circumference 54%
She had to get a flu shot and a couple of boosters. The doctor recommended allergy testing and getting her eyes checked (sometimes she appears cross eyed... and we need to watch her eyesight, as mine is terrible). So hopefully we can get those done in the next couple of weeks. Our new insurance will kick in soon.
