Trip to WA

Addie and I were able to take a trip up to Enumclaw Washington to see my family. Unfortunately, Scott was not able to come with us. Addie and I were able to have a great time visiting family, swimming, playing at parks, shopping, going out to lunch, going to ocean shores, and lots of hiking. Thanks to my family for such an awesome time!! Here are some pictures:

4th of July weekend

The 4th of July weekend is always busy/fun for us. We started the holiday with a mad dash to the nursery to get the plants we want for our yard. The nursery always does a 50% off everything sale on this weekend. We were fortunate enough to discover that the sale actually started on the 3rd so the day before we scoped out the exact plants we wanted. On the 3rd we stood in line to fight for our desired plants (you see, this sale is extremely popular). Kit and Kayla will testify to this, as they helped us out last year by standing by trees to guard them. Thanks guys!! The backyard looks great. Anyhow... This year was it was just Scott and me (and Addie) so I had to stand guard by myself. Well, we got all the plants we wanted, which was lucky because some of the plants we wanted there were only one or two in the whole nursery. Then we spent the rest of the day planting the front yard. I think it looks great! Here is a picture:
On the 4th of July we got up and went to a parade and then to a BBQ at the Moss home with tons of cousins. While making homemade root beer Addie tried to play in the dry ice. It was cute, she even tried to eat it.

After the BBQ we played frisbee football and then we headed off to the city fireworks show. I love the show, they put it to music and do a great job. Addie LOVED it. We weren't sure she would, but she would sit and clap at the fireworks. It was so fun. She even sat still on my lap for about 3 minutes... ahhhh. Today we went to a museum and to dinner with Scotts family. And now off to the block party. Needless to say, we have had a lot of fun. Addie is running on little sleep (she refuses to sleep anywhere except her own bed, and maybe a few minutes in the car) and is very cranky, but Sunday is a day of rest... right?? Here are more pictures of our weekend:

Uh-oh's

Addie started saying "uh-oh" today. It is quite hilarious. Previously she would just say "uh", but now she has completed it with the "oh", or more like "ah". We still thing "uh-ah" is pretty cute, even though she says "uh-ah" to everything.

Today was Addie's first day playing in the backyard make-shift pool. We put out a tarp, rounded the edges, filled it with (cold) water, put Addie in a over sized swimsuit (the only one we have- 2T), and let her play! We didn't have swimming diapers, which I would not suggest for swimming as they make a HUGE mess. She had a great time, and what I loved about it: 1/2 hour of playing in the water equals 2.5 hour nap!! Plus I get a little much needed sun. I guess we should get a kiddie pool soon.

New Stats

Adelyn had her 10 month check up today. She is 18 pounds 12 ounces (32%), and 28.5 inches (57%). Everything looks normal (except for her broken leg). She was developing a really nasty blister on the back of her heal where the cast was rubbing, so we had to go get another cast fitted to her leg. It has made a big difference already, she was so miserable with the other cast. The top two front teeth have broken through, and the next top and bottom front teeth (lateral incisors) are coming through. Soon she will have a mouth full of teeth. I will post a picture as soon as I can get her to open wide for the camera. The doctor said we could start giving her dairy products that are processed to see if she reacts to them. I gave her some cheese today and she loved it. No hives yet. Hopefully the milk allergy is something she will grow out of by the time she is 1, and have no other allergies. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wild Hair

After a bath, Adelyn rolled on the floor and this is what her hair looked like:
It's hard to tell but her hair looks like a wave (hmm... or maybe Elvis). She always makes us laugh.

Broken Leg

Yesterday, Adelyn was walking along the cupboards in the kitchen when she fell (walking on the floor, not on the counter- we had to clear that up so we dont get in trouble with the child protective services) . She tried to lean on an open cupboard, which gave way, and Adelyn twisted her leg during the fall. Needless to say, she now has a fractured right leg. We spent the day trying to get a hold of doctors (who apparently take fridays off) and figure out what exactly was wrong. Addie is now a proud owner of a half-cast (one we can take off for bath- yea!). She should heal in 3-4 weeks, much faster than an adult. She has been a trouper through the whole thing, hardly crying and even forgetting that her leg is broken (she kept trying to stand up- ouch!). Scott gave Addie her first sucker. It was like turning on a faucet... she was drooling so much! Yum!
