It's starting already...

I thought I would post this picture because this is the look I get these days... "mom, you are sooo weird!" Isn't she too young to have an opinion? :) What happened to "Super-hero Mom"??

(I suppose time-outs killed that in a flash)

Todays adventures with peanut butter

She kept saying "mmm...mmm..." and pulling the sandwich apart to get to the peanut butter. I think she likes it! She almost ate the entire half sandwich (which is good for Addie). One sticky mess...
Uh-oh... poor camera...
As fate would have it, I spoke too soon about the milk allergies. Still allergic, but I do think it is to a less extreme. Scott gave her more milk and tomato soup (made with milk) and she broke out in hives. They were not quite as pronounced as she sometimes has them... so maybe?? She was up 4 or 5 times during the night, so I think we are going to avoid milk for a while.

Peanut Allergy Free!

Well... hopefully. I put peanut butter on Addie's face the other day and no hives broke out! I got her to eat a small amount and she doesn't appear to have had a reaction. Now I just need to get her to eat more of it....

Addie was begging Scott for some of his milk, and being the loving (pushover) dad, he gave her some! I almost had a heart attack. Well, good news... no hives!! Her face was a little red and agitated, but we are not sure if that is from the milk, or sandwich he was trying to feed her (which had mayo and bacon in it). We will try again in a couple days. I will be sooo happy if she is out growing her milk allergy. Now we also need to test eggs...

Halloween

Trick-or-Treat!!
Our Halloween was eventful... we carved pumpkins... (although Addie did not want to touch the "guts", she just wanted to put the top on and off. Oops... showing a little plumbers crack...)
Our finished project... the neighbors let me borrow a pumpkin carving kit... good thing because I am not very creative on my own :)

We went to the Library for their "costume parade". Addie is sitting with her friend Derek. We got to go trick-or-treating around the library and get small toys and bookmarks (go figure).

Then Addie got all dressed up to greet kids as they came to get candy. Dad took her to one home to trick-or-treat... there they go...

Addie searching through the candy bowl for the perfect piece of candy....

Found it! (but not before she bit an end off a tootsie roll and got chocolate everywhere! Lets see if she sleeps tonight....)

There is no place like... Utah

Only in Utah...
-your ward consists of only 4 streets, and they are considering a split
-Costco is more popular than Disney Land
-no one looks twice when you have two carts full of canned goods and TP
-you hear people talking about the Priesthood, callings, or the BOM while using public transportation
-the guy at the check out counter starts talking politics and assumes you're republican
-there is any kind of "focus group" imaginable... scrapbook, reading, exercise, cooking, stress management, etc.
-case lot sales are advertised on TV and the radio
-general conference is broadcast on regular TV, not just the BYU channel
-once you have a child, the topic turns to when you are having another
-Monday nights are like a ghost town
-work parties make sure to offer apple cider if they have alcohol
-modest prom and wedding dresses are in regular mall stores (like Mervyns, JC Pennys)
-everything has vinyl on it
-it is standard for new homes (well, the nice ones) to have lots of storage places, including a food storage room (usually cemented on 3-4 sides)
-the mini-van is still popular
-a sick general authority gets "breaking news"

I cant think of anything else right now... Utah really is a unique place.

Shoes

Trying to get ready for church is always an adventure... Adelyn first rummaged through the brush drawer to find a headband, then searched through the closet for shoes. After putting one on my foot, Addie decided she wanted to wear them around. We sure had a good giggle this morning.

End of year recap

January 6th the girls did a great job on their piano recital. January 7th Olivia did French Club. January 11th Olivia had her first basketba...
