Pacific Science Center

While in Washington were able to go visit the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. The girls had a blast. They got to do all sorts of things like touch starfish, play with water and musical instruments, go through the butterfly room, learn about dinosaurs, and just have fun.

We had a great time hanging out with Nana and Aunt Kayla. Hopefully we get to do it again soon.

It's Raining....

It's pouring! And Addie cant resist. She woke up, ran into my room and exclaimed that it was raining and that she needed to get her boots, coat and umbrella ready so she could go outside as soon as possible. It reminds me of Washington, and it is days like these that I miss being there.

We recently took out part of our patio, due to some serious settling. We haven't been able to replace it yet, so now we have a great big pool next to our house.

Of course, I turn my back for a few moments, and she comes back like this....

At least she had fun. Brings back memories of when I was a kid.

Little Artist

Adelyn has been begging for days to paint. She has an official "paint shirt" and loves to get her fingers all slimy and colorful. I like any excuse to get her to trace her name, and letters, over and over. Tracing didn't last long, as it is more fun to mix new colors. She loves to be a little artist (and any excuse to get a little messy).

Fireworks

On a Friday night we got together with Scott's family for some fireworks. We had a lot of fun. Fire always brings out the "big kid" in the adults. Scott had a few leftover fireworks from the first year we were married and lived in WA. He bought them off the Indian Reservation and haven't used them because they were illegal. Firework laws in UT have been been changed (less restrictive) so Scott thought he would try to set one off. The aerial firework was lit, but it didn't shoot into the air and it blew up on the ground, sending fireworks towards people, homes, and cars. Luckily no one got hurt and nothing started on fire. Note to self (or Scott): Old fireworks = bad news!

We think this firework got lit wrong, as the whole thing went up in flames (still cool, though)

Splash Pad

The neighborhood just north of us has just put in a new splash pad. We love to head up there during these hot, dry, Utah afternoons. Splashing in water makes the hot air more tolerable, and the girls love it. It always takes a few minutes for Olivia to warm up to it, but Addie jumps right in (and she always finds a new friend). The girls ask to go almost every day. Good thing it is close by (and free!).

Roomates

We were lucky enough to have family come and stay with us for a coule of weeks. When extra people are here, Adelyn and Olivia get to share a room. I always worry that they wont sleep as well, but the girls proved me wrong. They slept as much as they would have normally and they loved being together. They would laugh, giggle, talk, share toys and spit (ugg) at each other before falling asleep at night.  After company left, we put Addie's room back together and she started complaining. She wanted to stay in Olivia's room. I am glad they love each other so much. Hopefully it sticks.

Graduate

We have a new graduate in our home. Scott finished up his last test of grad school! He now has a MBA and we couldn't be more proud of him. We decided to surprise (and embarrass) him a bit by having a sign on the garage and family over for dessert after his last test.

(Below: Lindsay working hard (with her broken leg), the new graduate, Adelyn and Levi playing ninjas)
