One night for Family Night we took a bike ride up to the Bountiful Pond. It was fun to get out and go exploring.

Testimony

Adelyn publicly bore her testimony during sacrament for the first time today. She went up alone and didn't have any help. It went like this: "I would like to bear my testimony, I know the church is true, I know Jesus is real... In the name of Jesus Christ, amen!" Later that day she prayed that she would have the courage to say more in her testimony next time. She was super cute and we are very proud of her.

The topic in primary was General Conference and Adelyn raised her hand to talk about the story Sister Wixom told during General Conference of a boy that got lost in a fabric store. At first the mother started calling for him and got louder and louder and she panicked. Finally she decided that the boy might be scared so she made a plan to talk softly and then the boy said "here I am". I was also very proud of Adelyn for listening and being able to retell a story from General Conference. She is a great example.

Trip to Moab

Over spring break we decided to head to warmer weather and took a road trip to Moab. We typically go every 3 or so years, so it was about time. The weather was warm so we decided to camp. We stayed at a crowded RV campsite, cooked our own food and just tried to enjoy the time away from housework, work, school and other obligations. It was a welcomed vacation. The first thing we did was drive around Arches and hike up to Delicate Arch. The girls thought it was pretty cool, although they did not prefer to hike. Their lack of enthusiasm for hiking limited what we could see in the Park as a lot of sights require hiking. However, we did see lots of sights from the car or small hikes and walking paths. The girls loved running around and playing in the sand. They also enjoyed camping and eating camp food and snacks.

There was a big sandy hill right outside of Arches that the girls begged and begged to play on. It is quite the hike to get to the top but that didn't stop the girls. Then they would jump off rocks or run down the hill. On one running trip down, Olivia tripped and landed face first in the sand, somersaulting over and over until the momentum ended. Poor girl had sand up her eyelids, nose, mouth, ears and hair. We had to race her back to camp to wash it out before the sand started scratching her eyes. I think she might have been slightly traumatized and talked about it for days afterwards.

After spending a few days in Arches National Park we decided to hit Goblin Valley on our way home. It was quite out of the way, but well worth the trip. The valley is amazing and we loved climbing the rocks and playing hide and seek with the girls. The girls also loved playing "king of the mountain" and claimed almost every rock they climbed on. We had a great family trip and cant wait to go back.

Silly Olivia

Olivia has started saying silly things. I will try to document some for keepsake. We sure love her.

While doing Olivia's hair:
Olivia: "Mom, my muscles hurt!
Sarah: "What muscles?"
Olivia: "My hair muscles!"
Apparently I wasn't being soft enough.

Olivia went into her room after getting in trouble and laid on the floor. When I came in to check on her I asked her what she was doing. She said, "I'm freaking out!"

"I'm boring!!" is a phrase she likes to use when she is bored.

When I ask Olivia to do something she doesn't want to do, she will exclaim, "I cant! I'm too little!"

Olivia likes to say "What the heck?!?" (in an extremely excited voice) whenever we seem surprised or excited. She claims she learned it from her teacher in nursery.... haha.

Easter 2013

Easter was fun. We decided to try dying eggs twice this year, first with Koolaid then with dye. I wasn't impressed with the Koolaid color but it did smell fruity.

Our second attempt was with real dye. The eggs turned out much more colorful. We used stickers to add designs to the eggs. Aunt Alyssa helped the girls.

The week before Easter we had a neighborhood egg hunt at the park. The girls had fun looking for eggs and playing with friends.

On Easter morning the girls searched the house for their baskets. Inside their baskets they found candy and a puzzle of Christ. The girls love putting puzzles together.

That afternoon we headed to the Moss' for dinner and an egg hunt with the extended family. It was a beautiful day and the girls loved finding eggs (especially the ones with money in them!)

Plastic Fort

Scott brought home a bunch of plastic sheets and decided to make a fort for the girls. They loved it. He built it around their small playhouse and slide. It was pretty sturdy and the girls had lots of fun playing in it. The day was beautiful so we decided to have our first picnic of the year. Hopefully it stays nice and sunny. We are done with winter. :)

Quick Trip to Washington

For my mom's birthday, my grandma flew my sister and me up to Washington to celebrate. It was a short weekend, without kids, but we had a blast! It was fun just to get together, hang out, play games, eat lots of yummy food, take walks, and laugh a ton. My grandma threw a luncheon in honor of my mom and afterwards we all went and got pedicures. I had a great time and cant wait to do it again!
