Adelyn turns 1!!

Addie turned one today. Here are a few things about her:

-She has "rock-star" hair, which we don't know what to do with (besides just let grow out)... she needs a guitar
-She has 8 teeth, 4 front top and 4 front bottom
-She can almost walk... taking a few steps here and there
-She likes to crawl but will crawl like a bear (on hands and feet) if on cement
-She loves to rip off all the pieces from her quiet book, and rip up other items like books, tissues, etc.
-Addie can go up and down stairs
-She gives kisses with her mouth wide open and tongue sticking out
-She can sign "please", "more", and "milk" (but she prefers "please")
-She likes to play with the hose and be sprayed in the face
-Addie can say "dada" and "mama", and sometimes words that sound like "uuce" (like "Jesus", "shoes", or "juice") depending on what she is pointing at
-She has already had a broken leg
-Addie is allergic to dairy and eggs
-She is average in length but lean for her age
-She has brown eyes and dry skin (like her mom)
-She will only sleep in her own bed. She has never wanted to cuddle to sleep
-Addie sleeps pretty well (10-12 hours a night, with maybe 2 -short- naps daily)
-She loves the Tupperware drawer
-She loves to touch real animals
-She loves to be outside
-Addie doesnt like the grass and shivers at the sight of plants
-She is very social.. flirting with anyone she sees
-People say she looks like her mom, but acts like her dad at the same age

Surf'n'swim and Thanksgiving Point

Yesterday we took Addie to the Surf'n'swim. It was her first time in a public pool. Every half hour or so, they turn on waves and you float around for a couple of minutes. Addie really liked the wave part. It was hard to keep her entertained between the wave periods, she would get really cold and cuddly (is that what we need to do to get a hug?? freeze her??). Today, a couple of girls on my street and I took our kids to Thanksgiving Point. They claim to have the biggest dinosaur museum in the world. If you ask me, it didn't seem THAT big. Maybe it was because it was a madhouse (everyone and their dog came because it was $2 Tuesday -normally costing like $10) and it was impossible to navigate a stroller through the crowd. We could have missed some parts. Here are some pictures, sorry, my camera did not do to well with the lighting.

Addie sitting on a dinosaur foot (as if you couldn't tell): What I love about this picture is that all the babies (Addie, Jax, and Chase) look like they are really afraid of being eaten alive!! Or wait... are they just fussy?? No, not fussy....never fussy....
Then when we had enough of the crowd (like after 15 minutes) we went outside to the farm area. Here is a goat licking Addie's feet. She loved it.

But the best part of all (for Addie) was playing in the dirt. You'd think we could do that at home?

Family Reunion

Over the weekend we were able to get together with Scott's dads side of the family for a family reunion. We all met up at Flaming Gorge (about 4 hours from home) and stayed Friday night. On Saturday morning we all got up and went to float the river. It was a lot of fun. The stretch of river we floated was about 7 miles long, so it took a couple of hours. We were only able to float it twice, but we had a grand time. The river is very mild and Addie came with us on the first run. She really enjoyed it (most of the time) as long as she could stand in the front and give orders. The second run, we decided to mix up groups and (strategically) Scott and I ended up on the "young marrieds, and older singles" raft. It was us verses the "youngies" on a raft, and the "older adults" on another raft. We ambushed both rafts and was able to retrieve an extra bailing bucket, water gun, and paddle. Needless to say, we won the race. Even though the water was ice cold, we had an awesome time. Here are a few pictures:

Crib Issues

For the past couple nights, Addie has gotten her leg stuck in between the crib rails. It's like she jams her leg in with full force, because it is impossible to get it out without Scott prying the rails apart. Addie will scream with all her might and it really makes me nervous. I am afraid she will get her leg stuck and then twist and possibly break her leg again. I know a lot of people have bumpers on their cribs... I have heard mixed reviews on them... but maybe we should get one now. Hopefully her legs fatten up so she cant jam them in between the rails all the way up to her thigh. Poor girl has a little bruise. It makes me feel terrible. :(

Trip to WA

Addie and I were able to take a trip up to Enumclaw Washington to see my family. Unfortunately, Scott was not able to come with us. Addie and I were able to have a great time visiting family, swimming, playing at parks, shopping, going out to lunch, going to ocean shores, and lots of hiking. Thanks to my family for such an awesome time!! Here are some pictures:

4th of July weekend

The 4th of July weekend is always busy/fun for us. We started the holiday with a mad dash to the nursery to get the plants we want for our yard. The nursery always does a 50% off everything sale on this weekend. We were fortunate enough to discover that the sale actually started on the 3rd so the day before we scoped out the exact plants we wanted. On the 3rd we stood in line to fight for our desired plants (you see, this sale is extremely popular). Kit and Kayla will testify to this, as they helped us out last year by standing by trees to guard them. Thanks guys!! The backyard looks great. Anyhow... This year was it was just Scott and me (and Addie) so I had to stand guard by myself. Well, we got all the plants we wanted, which was lucky because some of the plants we wanted there were only one or two in the whole nursery. Then we spent the rest of the day planting the front yard. I think it looks great! Here is a picture:

On the 4th of July we got up and went to a parade and then to a BBQ at the Moss home with tons of cousins. While making homemade root beer Addie tried to play in the dry ice. It was cute, she even tried to eat it.

After the BBQ we played frisbee football and then we headed off to the city fireworks show. I love the show, they put it to music and do a great job. Addie LOVED it. We weren't sure she would, but she would sit and clap at the fireworks. It was so fun. She even sat still on my lap for about 3 minutes... ahhhh. Today we went to a museum and to dinner with Scotts family. And now off to the block party. Needless to say, we have had a lot of fun. Addie is running on little sleep (she refuses to sleep anywhere except her own bed, and maybe a few minutes in the car) and is very cranky, but Sunday is a day of rest... right??
