Tonsils

Pearce has been a terrible sleeper. He snores loudly and is very restless. After examining his tonsils, the doctors determined he would benefit from removing his tonsils and adenoids. We tried to prepare Pearce as much as possible, but he was very scared (kicking and screaming the whole way back with the nurse). It was traumatic for all of us. The surgery went well and it took about 10 days to recover, but now Pearce is back to normal and sleeping much quieter.

Buddies

Pearce just loves his uncle Michael. Pearce picked all these wildflowers for Michael during a walk at the cabin.

Soccer

Adelyn has been playing on the AYSO competitive team this year (called Extra). She has been doing a great job. We are proud of her determination and effort to become good at a sport.

Back Surgery

Scott hurt his back changing the brakes on the van. He lifted and twisted funny and felt pain. He tried to deal with the pain while on work travel (to Italy) but the pain got more and more intense until Scott could barely walk. When he got home from Italy, his muscles seized up and he couldn't walk, sit, or even lay down without pain. He was also not able to work for a couple of weeks while we went to (many) doctors trying to figure out what to do. Eventually, it was determined that he would need surgery to fix a herniated disc that was encroaching on the nerve space (making life very, very painful). The surgery was successful, and Scott was able to walk home. He has been sore and has had some pain since, but is on the mend. He is back to work and doing a lot of physical therapy to strengthen his back.

Olivia's Baptism

Olivia was supposed to get baptized in March but Scott hurt his back (pretty severely and couldn't walk) so Olivia decided to wait until her dad could baptize her. Her baptism got pushed back until April. Olivia was very patient and understanding. When her baptism came around, it was a beautiful day. She looked like a princess and it was fun having friends and family around to celebrate with us. We are very proud of her.
