Hike up Adams Canyon

Adelyn, Scott and I took a hike up Adams Canyon (2 miles up). It was a fun hike, and even more fun to have Adelyn come with us.

Easter

The Saturday before Easter we went over to cousin Eliza and Marks house for a party. I had made three kinds of potato salad (one GF, one without egg products- for Addie, and one fat free for Clark). In my haste I served up the kids and gave Adelyn the wrong plate of potato salad, one with egg in it. She took one bite and her mouth started feeling itchy and stomach started hurting. Right away we gave her some Zyrtec and had her lay down. Unfortunately she was getting worse. While Adelyn was laying down, Olivia and Pearce went outside to do an Easter egg hunt with the extended family. It was cut short though, as we decided to take Adelyn home. At home, Adelyn started vomiting, getting a full body rash, and itchy throat. We decided to take her to the ER for monitoring. There she was treated with steroids to help with her symptoms. It was a sad day for her. The next day (Easter) when Adelyn was feeling better, we held another egg hunt in the Moss' back yard so Adelyn could participate. It was an eventful Easter, one I probably wont forget.

Broken Leg

While riding her bike, Olivia went around a tight corner and got her leg caught underneath the bike. She twisted and fell, breaking her leg. We took her up to Primary Children's hospital to get x-rays and determined that she had a spiral fracture up her leg (above the ankle). They put her in a brace for a week until we could get a cast. Olivia really wanted a yellow cast, but that was not an option so she settled for pink. She had to use crutches for 6 weeks and then got a walking boot on for another 4 weeks. Poor girl could not ride her bike or dance for a couple months. Luckily she was able to get the brace off before summertime. Olivia's kindergarten class wrote letters to her (and her teacher bound it together). She loved getting letters and packages.
