Trip to Washington

We decided to take a trip to Washington to see Nana and Poppi. We also got to see cousins Levi, Owen, and Jackson while we were there. The girls got to play in the creek, ride horses, play outside and get plenty dirty. The weather was beautiful so we all decided to go camping out on the Puget Sound. We loved being out in nature, playing in the water, going kayaking, eating good food and celebrating Adelyns birthday. It was a fun trip (except that I lost my iphone and all my pictures when our kayak tipped over). So here are a few pictures I could salvage from others:

Lagoon

Every time we drive by Lagoon the girls beg to go. Scott was able to take the girls for a day and they loved it. Grandpa, Christine, Michael, Alyssa and Jake were able to go join in the fun.

Half Marathon

I decided to train for a Half Marathon in July. A few friends and I signed up for the Legacy Midnight Half, running from basically North Salt Lake to Farmington starting at 10pm. It was an amazing run for me and I had a lot of fun. I kept up with Michelle and Gina for about 8 miles, then slowed my pace slightly, running a few miles by myself and caught back up to Michelle. Michelle and I finished the race together. This is my first ever race and I beat my goals. I averaged a 9:48 pace per mile (for 13.1 miles!) and made it in 2 hours and 8 minutes. I have never really been a runner before, so I was super proud. I hope to do it again sometime. During the race, Scott and my sister Katie would drive to the trail every couple of miles and cheer us on. I could hear Katie's yell from far away and it kept me super motivated. She is awesome!

Below: before and after pictures of the race (Michelle, Gina, me), sprinting to the finish line, and me and my cheerleader (Katie)

Summer Fun

This summer has been a lot of fun. We have been spending time at the splash pad, Seven Peaks, aunt Christine's pool and getting wet in the back yard. The girls love to swim and want to go everyday. Olivia's hair is starting to turn a little green from all the chlorine. I especially love the face Olivia makes when she jumps into the water. She holds her breath by puffing out her cheeks and closing her eyes. It makes me laugh each time she does it. We love the summer time.

Daddy-Daughter Dates

Scott tries to regularly take each girl on a special date. It is something they look forward to and talk about. Recently, Scott took Adelyn to the Salt Lake Real game. Adelyn loved it and talked about how her team won, she got to eat hot dogs and a huge Slurpee and got to hang out with dad. For Olivia's turn, she went with Scott up to girls camp for a night and got to sleep in a tent. They went on a hike (Olivia wanted to be carried in a backpack), did the slip'n'slide, and got poured on by rain. They had a great time.

4th of July

For this year's Fourth of July celebrations we attended the Centerville parade, went swimming, had a BBQ and went to the Kaysville fireworks show. Nana and Poppi were in town to celebrate with us. The girls also painted their fingernails to be festive. The Fourth of July is always fun.

Ginger

When Scott was about 15, he brought home a dog from the pound. They named her Ginger and she was a good dog. Recently, cancer started growing on her face and it became time to say good-bye. She will be missed. The girls put Ginger's collar on their stuffed dog and pretend she is still around. It is cute.

End of year recap

January 6th the girls did a great job on their piano recital. January 7th Olivia did French Club. January 11th Olivia had her first basketba...
