Happy Valentines Day

Nana sent Addie some fun things for Valentines Day, including sprinkles. We couldn't resist making cookies, and it turned into quite the mess. Addie loved every minute of it (and she tried to eat every last sprinkle she could get her sticky fingers on). The cookies were a little crunchy from all the sprinkles, but we had a good time. Happy Valentines Day!

Potty Training

I have been hesitant to post this (because as soon as you gloat, it always backfires)... but Addie is potty trained!! Yahoo! Of course, we have had a few episodes in stores, and on the floor at home, but all in all it has been pretty successful. I waited until she was really ready, and am now hoping we don't have any regressing when the new baby gets here. Sigh.

A Taste of Your Own Medicine

We have a pretty stubborn girl on our hands. She wants to choose and do everything for herself. I have been trying to give her lots of choices in order to give her a sense of control (and trick her into doing what I need her to do). And just when I was doubting that I was giving her enough choices, we have a conversation like this:

Addie: Mom, I want to watch a movie
Me: Not right now, sweetie
Addie: Watch a movie? Upstairs or downstairs? Which one!?

It made me laugh. At least I give her enough choices that she is smart enough to try using the tactic on me.

Daddy's Little Helper

Whoever thought of having an archway between the master bedroom and bath did not take into consideration people (like me) who want to catch every once of sleep possible. I would often complain when Scott would get up early to get ready for work because of the light and sound, so he decided to fix the problem for me. During Christmas break from school, Scott, and a few other helpers, put a door in the archway. Addie would not leave Scott alone, and would insist that she got to stand on a stool and help. She wanted to be just like daddy. It was pretty cute. Scott had to do some cosmetic work around the arch to make it look like the door was actually supposed to be there. It is not completely finished yet, we still need to paint, but the extra sleep I get is wonderful. Thanks to those who helped.

Wedding

Congrats to Christine and Mike who got married in December. I really didn't take any pictures (sorry), except of Addie. She sure was cute. I wish she would let me curl her hair more often.

Ward Party

Addie got a little Santa time at the ward Christmas party. We thought she would be scared, but after explaining that she would get a candy cane, she was all for sitting on a strangers lap. She even told him that she wanted toys for Christmas.

We also got sucked in to some karaoke. Believe me, we are not the singing type. Scott and some of the other men tried to sing along to Brittney Spears, and I cant remember what us girls tried to sing, but it was fun. We have a great ward.

Snow

It's that time of year again. Addie has been begging to go outside in the snow, so today I bundled her up and let her go. She loved all 15 minutes of it before she got cold. Hopefully she will enjoy sledding this year.

End of year recap
